Chicago Police Department recruits work with District U-46 (Elgin) students at the
Chicago Police Education and Training Center during the Police Patrol exercise.

FIELD EXPERIENCES
Police Patrol offers students an opportunity to have positive interactions with police officers in a non-threatening environment. In the police patrol simulation, students role play interactions between police and the public and learn how it feels to handle realistic situations facing police. Police recruits benefit from the one on one interaction with students in that they are afforded and gain the perspective of the young people they encounter on the streets, in schools and in the homes they are called to.
