2007 Honorees

	Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has been a steadfast supporter and participant in the Illinois Youth Summit. In her words, at the Summit "students are taking an active role in shaping the future by learning about the issues facing our country, challenging policy makers and making their voices heard."
Huron Consulting Group has demonstrated its commitment to engaging youth in democracy through its support of the Edward J Lewis II Lawyers in the Classroom program. The program involves 467 volunteer attorneys in 84 elementary schools - 63 Chicago Public Schools, 4 private schools in Chicago, and 17 public and private schools in the suburbs and reaches almost 7,000 students from all walks of life.

The Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago (CRFC) has, since 1974, been a national leader in the design and implementation of high quality law-related and civics education programs. Students and teachers in elementary, middle and high schools trust CRFC to offer programs that develop critical thinking skills and responsible civic action.

Each year, the Board of Directors of CRFC gives the Bill of Rights in Action Award to individuals and organizations who, because of their professional commitment and community involvement, provide exemplary models of citizenship for our nation's young people.
